Daniel Ramos

Daniel Ramos, PSS at Konnect Wellness Center, brings 40+ years of social work experience and 16 years of sobriety to his role. A proud Native American, Daniel provides invaluable peer support, life coaching, and mentorship to individuals in recovery, helping them build brighter futures.

Daniel Ramos, a Peer Support Specialist (PSS) at Konnect Wellness Center and Steps to Recovery Homes, brings over 40 years of social work experience and a profound dedication to community service. At 65 years old, Daniel has been clean and sober for 16 years, drawing from his personal and professional experiences to support individuals on their recovery journeys.

Raised in foster care in Los Angeles County, Daniel earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from U.C.L.A. His extensive career includes 18 years of public service as a Deputy Probation Officer with the Los Angeles County Probation Department, a Children’s Social Worker Supervisor with the Department of Children and Family Services, and a Parole Agent with the California Department of Corrections, where he supervised and provided rehabilitation services for felons re-entering society.

In addition to his work in public service, Daniel spent 18 years in the Labor Movement with the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), advocating for L.A. County employees through contract negotiations, campaign coordination, and serving as a Statewide Political Director in California.

A proud Native American (Navajo and Mexika), Daniel has been deeply involved in his culture and ceremonies for the past decade. He has lived in Cottonwood, AZ, for over two years and is a devoted father of two adult children and grandfather to five grandchildren in San Bernardino County, California.

Daniel’s commitment to community service extends beyond his career—he has served on numerous non-profit boards supporting children, the elderly, and those with physical and mental challenges. Currently, he is on the board of VELA in East Los Angeles.

Introduced to Steps to Recovery Homes by his past sponsor, Wayne Greer, Daniel has continued his life coaching work after Wayne’s passing, sponsoring and mentoring 2 to 4 men at a time within the program. His deep commitment to the mission of Steps to Recovery Homes is evident in his ongoing support and dedication to the organization\’s success, growth, and development.
