Daniel E. Cohen brings over five decades of entrepreneurial excellence, innovation, and community leadership to the board. As an inveterate inventor and seasoned business leader, Daniel has demonstrated exceptional ability to transform small start-up enterprises into high-volume commercial marketing and service companies through strategic vision and operational expertise.
Daniel’s entrepreneurial journey spans multiple industries and showcases remarkable business acumen. Over a thirty-year period beginning in 1968, he successfully owned and managed six restaurants, each achieving profitability and sold at favorable returns. This track record demonstrates his ability to identify opportunities, build sustainable business models, and execute successful exit strategies.
Beyond traditional business ventures, Daniel has established himself as a prolific inventor with multiple commercial patents. His innovations include table-top high chairs and wine receptacles marketed through Baby Chair Corporation, advanced photo studio systems for superimposing client photos on national magazine covers, Polaroid-competitive camera systems for rapid high-quality photo delivery, and a patented hole-in-one contest system for golf courses. Most notably, he invented and holds patents for the innovative Swing ‘n Win golf system, where he currently serves as Governing Member of Swing ‘n Win, LLC and CEO of the Operating Company.
Daniel’s commitment to community service is exemplified through his foundational role in addressing food insecurity. Thirty-five years ago, he initiated a Thanksgiving program to feed the homeless from his restaurants in Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin. This grassroots effort has grown exponentially, now serving over 6,000 people annually at the DECC (Duluth Entertainment Convention Center), representing the largest Thanksgiving dinner operation in Minnesota that continues to operate yearly.
Following his relocation to Sedona, Arizona in 2001, Daniel expanded his business portfolio into construction, focusing on residential home building. He currently owns and operates two successful restaurants in the region: Bella Vita Ristorante and BV’s Italian Kitchen, located in Sedona and Cottonwood respectively, continuing his legacy in the hospitality industry.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami, with majors in Marketing, Management, and Economics. His unique combination of entrepreneurial success, innovative thinking, community service leadership, and multi-industry experience makes him a valuable asset to organizations seeking strategic guidance and visionary leadership.
