LeAnne Gandy brings over 27 years of distinguished educational experience to the board, combining deep classroom knowledge with exceptional administrative leadership. Currently serving as Superintendent of Lovington Municipal Schools since 2015, LeAnne has demonstrated proven expertise in transforming educational systems through strategic vision, data-driven decision making, and collaborative leadership.
With 19 years of district-level administrative experience and 8 years of classroom teaching, LeAnne exemplifies results-driven leadership in completing complex and challenging educational responsibilities. Her leadership philosophy centers on visionary, strategic, analytical, and organizational approaches through continuous quality improvement, with an unwavering focus on student success and stakeholder engagement.
As Superintendent, LeAnne has successfully established and implemented district-wide policies, developed comprehensive programs to advance student achievement PreK-12, and built productive relationships with school leaders, staff, and community partners. Her expertise spans curriculum development, instructional best practices, budget management, strategic planning, and professional development initiatives. She has effectively managed district operations while serving as chief executive officer and educational leader for the board, district, and community.
Prior to her superintendency, LeAnne served as Assistant Superintendent for Lovington Municipal Schools (2003-2015), where she oversaw human resources, coordinated instructional programs, and supervised administrators across multiple educational services. Her earlier experience includes serving as Senior Consultant for Re:Learning New Mexico, where she researched, developed, and facilitated professional development activities in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and systemic change.
LeAnne’s commitment to educational excellence extends beyond her district through active community leadership. She serves as President of both Cooperative Educational Services (CES) and the Southeastern New Mexico Educational Resource Center (SNMERC), and chairs the Academic & Student Affairs Committee for the University of the Southwest Board of Trustees. Her additional board service includes America’s Rural Energy Coalition and the Lovington Public Library, while maintaining membership in Rotary International.
She holds a Master of Education in Education Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, both from Eastern New Mexico University. LeAnne’s comprehensive background in education, from classroom instruction through executive leadership, combined with her demonstrated expertise in policy development, budget management, and strategic planning, makes her a valuable asset to organizations seeking experienced governance and educational insight.
